Message Excerpt

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. — 1 John 4:1

In these last days, spiritual deception is at an all-time high. Many voices claim to speak for God, but not every voice that sounds spiritual is from the Spirit of God. The Bible warns us to test every spirit — not reject every spirit, but test them. This means we must use discernment, grounded in the Word of God, to distinguish between what is truly of God and what is a counterfeit.

There are three sources of spiritual influence: the Spirit of God, the spirit of the world, and the spirit of the enemy. The Spirit of God always agrees with the written Word of God. It produces fruit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Any spirit that contradicts Scripture, promotes division, or leads people away from Christ is not from God.

How do we test the spirits? First, by the Word. Every prophecy, teaching, and revelation must be measured against the Bible. If it does not align with Scripture, it is false — no matter how eloquent or popular the speaker. Second, by the fruit. Jesus said you shall know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). A true man or woman of God produces the character of Christ. Third, by confession. The spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God (1 John 4:2). Any spirit that denies the lordship, deity, or finished work of Christ is the spirit of antichrist.

Many have been led astray because they followed signs and wonders without testing the source. Miracles alone do not validate a ministry — even the magicians in Egypt performed signs. What validates a ministry is alignment with truth. Do not be carried away by charisma, titles, or popularity. Be rooted in the Word. Be led by the Spirit. And always test every spirit.

The church must return to biblical discernment. We must stop being spiritual consumers who accept everything and become spiritual watchmen who guard the truth. Your destiny is too important to be handed over to an untested spirit. For more of this message, watch Ark of God TV.
